Should finance be outside politics?
Everybody does what is good for them (more looking at the short term and some times looking at the long term). Politicians do what will get them elected. If short term growth has to be slowed down to ensure long term safety, politicians simply won’t do it. Is that a good reason to say financal decisions of a country should be taken by non-political body?
